The British Embassy in Doha, Qatar, recently announced that Qatar has been officially selected for the UK’s Super Priority Visa Service, effective 9 July 2024, This significant development was shared on the Embassy’s official ‘X’ page (formerly known as ‘Twitter’).

The Super Priority Visa service program allows applicants to receive a decision within two business days, offering Qatari citizens a faster and more efficient visa application process. Applicants can avail of this expedited service when submitting their applications at the visa application center after completing the electronic application. It is important to note that this service applies only to certain types of visas, and applicants are required to pay an additional charge, typically around EUR 500, for this expedited processing.

The Embassy’s ‘X’ post also highlighted that 20,000 Qatari citizens have registered for the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, enabling them to travel to the UK without a visa. Visa applicants are reminded that domestic workers must be paid the UK National Minimum Wage and may need to provide proof of this during the visa application process.

This move is expected to enhance travel efficiency for Qatari citizens, providing a more streamlined and quicker visa process, and further strengthening the travel ties between Qatar and the UK.
