Andrew went two from two with his picks on Sunday and starts the week with three stats-based selections at Thirsk, Laytown and Kempton on Monday, September 16th…
THIRSK 3.50
AGNES GREY (system – John & Sean Quinn, sellers on turf)
Since the beginning of 2017, the John & Sean Quinn yard has a ten from 36 record in selling company on turf (27.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £3.28 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 7.14, A/E = 1.40). Those who started in the top four in the betting were ten from 29 (34.5%) for a profit of £10.48. AGNES GREY scored comfortably at Carlisle in first-time blinkers last week and can follow up in this selling handicap.
LAYTOWN 6.05
ROMAN HARRY (system – Harry Angel, AW, no headgear)
ROMAN HARRY has raced exclusively on grass since his fourth of 14 in a Dundalk maiden last summer but the switch to the beach at Laytown can see him break his duck at the 13th attempt. Progeny of his sire Harry Angel do well on the all-weather when not wearing headgear, landing 51 of their 245 starts (20.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £76.92 to a £1 level stake at SP.
KEMPTON 7.00
SHELBOURNE (system – George Scott, geldings in AW handicaps)
George Scott has a fine recent record with geldings in all-weather handicaps, scoring with 33 of the 130 qualifiers (25.4% strike-rate) since the beginning of 2022 for a profit of £21.21 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who had the benefit of a recent outing (within six weeks) were 26 from 91 (28.6%) for a profit of £32.13. SHELBOURNE has yet to race over tonight’s 1m trip but looked in need of it when a close-up fourth at Chelmsford last time and looks worth chancing at an each-way price.
