The great thing about Spreadex is that offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences, of course, between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets.

Make the right call and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew made a good profit with his buy of LORD ERSKINE (2nd, 14-1) on Friday and has three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, September 28th…

HAYDOCK 3.15

Size matters where front-runner NEVER DARK is concerned, as he struggles to dominate in big fields. Nine or ten runners seems to be his cut-off point (he’s won seven of his 23 starts in single-figure line-ups for a profit of £27.33 to a £1 level stake at SP). Ten are due to go to post for this 5f Class 2 handicap, a race Iain Jardine’s seven-year-old landed 12 months ago). He caught the eye when mid-division in the Ayr Silver Cup last time, doing fourth best of the disadvantages near side group and will be happier back at 5f in the mud. Today’s field size is a borderline case but, with luck, there will be a non-runner or two before post time. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price, each-way (12-1 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back NEVER DARK in Haydock 3.15

RIPON 4.00

WHITE UMBRELLA is clearly modest, but she tends to come to hand in spring/autumn and looked on her back way when beaten by just over two lengths into a 22-1 sixth of nine in a Class 5 fillies’ handicap at Hamilton earlier this month, doing well to finish so close after challenging away from where the action unfolded. I wrote her up in Racing & Football Outlook after that effort, suggesting that she might need to return to Class 6 level before getting her head in front again and Chris Kellett’s five-year-old confirmed that theory when running a similar race in Class 5 open company at Chester next time, meeting trouble in running and again go down by just over two lengths in a 22-1 sixth. She’s back down to Class 6 level today (her three handicap wins have come in this grade) and she’ll love the deep ground. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (11-2 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back WHITE UMBRELLA in Ripon 4.00

RIPON 4.40

OSO RAPIDO, like White Umbrella (see above), also tends to come to hand at this time of year, with six of his seven wins coming from late August until early November. His latest win came in a Class 4 handicap last October off a mark of 82 and he’s in Class 6 company today off just 66. His 14-race losing streak is an obvious worry but there were some high spots during that sequence, including a 22-1 short-headed runner-up effort at Pontefract and his lates Chester seventh (when one place behind White Umbrella) was better than it looked, as he did too much too soon. Roger Fell & Sean Murray’s veteran has yet to win from three starts here at Ripon but ran well on each occasion, finishing second, fourth and fifth on Class 4 contests and rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market (he’s currently 4-1 in the fixed odds betting).

Recommendation: Back OSO RAPIDO in Ripon 4.40
