Wilko will be making its return to the capital next month with the opening of a new branch.
The shop branch in Uxbridge, west London, is set to open its doors to the public on 22 November at 9am.
It’s going to be located in The Pavilions Shopping Centre, where there previous branch was before it closed down last October.
The much-loved homeware goods company fell into administration in August 2023, forcing it to shut 400 stores across the United Kingdom. The string of closures led to almost 12,500 workers losing their jobs.
But over the past year Wilko have been making a return to Britain’s high streets after being bought by CDS Superstores.
Wilko’s Uxbridge branch will be the seventh chain opened by the brand in the past year, following openings in Poole, Exeter, Luton, Plymouth, St Albans and Rotherham.
CDS Superstores’ chief executive Alex Simpkin said: ‘Our expansion is about bringing Wilko back to the heart of communities, providing quality and value in every corner of the UK.
‘We’ve had a great reception from customers in our six locations to date, and from wilko.com shoppers, and we’re thrilled to announce our reopening in Uxbridge, which also marks our return to Greater London.’
Opening in time for Christmas, it is hoped that the new Uxbridge store will provide a boost for the local economy.
