A high-stakes clash is on the cards as Chelsea and Arsenal rekindle their storied Premier League rivalry this Sunday.
Hosts Chelsea enter the match on a high, having dispatched Armenian club Noah 8-0 in the UEFA Conference League.
Arsenal, on the other hand, come into the match after back-to-back defeats. After a 0-1 loss to Newcastle United in the league last weekend, the Gunners went down to Serie A champions Inter Milan in a UEFA Champions League clash mid-week.

Chelsea vs. Arsenal lineups, team news
Chelsea are in excellent shape fitness-wise, but there is one major concern ahead of this match.
Star playmaker Cole Palmer was the recipient of a studs-up challenge from Lisandro Martinez on Sunday which drew a VAR check for a potential red card. It left Palmer with a race to prove his full fitness for the weekend, and it’s unclear whether he will be available for this match.
Other than Palmer, the only concern for Chelsea is to Jadon Sancho who missed out on Thursday’s Europa Conference league match with a knock and could be held out again this weekend.
Chelsea predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Sanchez (GK) — James, Fofana, Colwill Gusto — Caicedo, Lavia, Fernandez — Madueke, Jackson, Neto.
Out: None
Doubt: Cole Palmer (knee), Jadon Sancho (knock).
Suspended: None.
The injuries are beginning to pile up for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta has a significant number of players who are fighting to be fit for this match, and it’s unclear what mix of talent he’ll have at his disposal this weekend. While it’s expected that Martin Odegaard could be finally ready to play a more significant role after returning for a late cameo off the bench midweek in the Champions League, that’s the only bit of good news for the Gunners.
Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Mikel Merino could all miss out here after picking up injuries in the defeat to Inter on Wednesday, with Rice the most concerning of the group. It sounds like the midfield lynchpin will be gritting it out for club and country, his broken toe is going to linger some time and will require season-long pain management. Havertz and Merino both picked up head injuries and will need to be evaluated.
Riccardo Calafiori is still absent with his knee injury and likely won’t return until at least after the international break, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is probably not a viable option until December.
Arsenal predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Raya (GK) — White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber — Partey, Rice — Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli — Trossard.
Out: Kieran Tierney (hamstring), Riccardo Calafiori (knee), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee).
Doubt: Declan Rice (foot), Kai Havertz (head), Mikel Merino (head).
Suspended: None.
Chelsea vs. Arsenal Prediction
Arsenal come into this game with the bragging rights, having won six of the last nine Premier League London derbies against Chelsea.
Chelsea’s strength has been their excellent prowess in attack this season, while Arsenal have been rock solid at the back. This game will likely end a hotly-contested draw as the same fixture last season, with the two teams sharing the spoils.
- Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal
