Emma Raducanu faces Sofia Kenin in the first round of the 2024 US Open today, as the British tennis star looks to enjoy a deep run in New York.
It has been three years since Raducanu remarkably landed the trophy in 2021 as she became the first qualifier to clinch a Grand Slam singles title in the Open Era.
Raducanu hasn’t reached the quarter-finals of a major tournament since that incredible triumph but the 21-year-old has enjoyed a resurgence across 2024.
She impressively reached the Wimbledon last 16 in July – just over a year after triple surgery – and has produced her first wins over players ranked in the top 10.
Raducanu skipped the Olympic Games in Paris to focus on the hard-court swing and Tim Henman has handed the Briton a 8.5/10 for her season so far as she prepares for her first match at Flushing Meadows.
But what time does Raducanu take on Kenin? And how can you watch it from the UK? Read on to find out…
Who does Emma Raducanu play in the first round of the US Open 2024?
Raducanu faces a showdown against American world No.54 Kenin in her opening match at Flushing Meadows.
It is a tough match for the unseeded Raducanu – with Kenin also set to receive significant support from the home crowd on Grandstand.
If the British star manages to conjure up a victory, she could next face sixth-seed Jessica Pegula in the second round, who she beat in Eastbourne this summer.
What time will Emma Raducanu’s first-round match be played at the 2024 US Open?
Raducanu locks horns with Kenin around 11pm UK time (6pm local time) on Tuesday, August 27 – it is the final scheduled match of the day on Grandstand.
As always, though, Grand Slam order of plays can be subject to late changes.
