Ruben Amorim will take charge of his first Manchester United match on Sunday as the Red Devils face Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Confirmed as Erik ten Hag’s successor at Old Trafford on November 1, the Portuguese coach has had a long wait to get going in England’s top flight due to the international break in the middle of the month.
His first test comes against Ipswich, who claimed an impressive 2-1 away win over Tottenham just prior to the pause in the club season.
Manager Kieran McKenna, previously an assistant coach at United, will now attempt to mastermind another memorable victory against his old employers.

McKenna will have had this fixture circled on the calendar since winning promotion last season, but this meeting with his old club comes at a difficult time in terms of injury concerns.

Kalvin Phillips missed the Spurs game through suspension but is also out for this one with a knock, but midfielder Jack Taylor is back among the substitutes. Key attacker Omari Hutchinson is fit after suffering a heavily bruised foot.

It looks as though Amorim is going with the favoured 3-4-3 system he used at Sporting CP, although the lineup is one that looks adaptable in terms of formation.
The apparent back three includes Jonny Evans and Noussair Mazraoui. Lisandro Martinez is out due to the back trouble that kept him out of Argentina’s games this month, while Victor Lindelof also suffered an injury on international duty, and Harry Maguire is still sidelined.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are finally back in the squad, although they are only on the bench. Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount are also among the substitutes.
Marcus Rashford looks to be leading the line.

Man United subs: Bayindir, Malacia, Shaw, Mainoo, Mount, Ugarte, Antony, Zirkzee, Hojlund
