LAY OF THE DAY Horse Racing Tip

Saturday (10th August 2024) – 7:52 Lingfield: MACANUDO

This Ian Williams runner has been knocking on the door in this year, but the fact remains he’s still only recorded one career win and is still 0-from-12 on the grass – with his sole career success coming on the AW at Chelmsford.

Yes, he’s a horse that shows plenty of pace too – backed up with that only win coming over 5f – but I’m not totally sure today’s 6f is his favoured trip – he’s tried 6f nine times and been beaten each time.

Macanudo is also racing off a mark of 68 – dropped a pound from last time, but he also had a 3lb and 7lb claimer on the last twice and still didn’t manage to break his duck on the green stuff with this added help.

Luke Morris rides for the second time and we can expect his normal power-packed effort from the saddle – but I’d still just be a tad worried of the horse doing too much early on and not last time out.

Of the rest, CD winner Tilsworth Ony Ta will be one leading light running for us, plus the consistent Raffles Angel and Impeach.
