The Bermuda Golf Links Society is “forging relationships that build on the love for the game of golf around the world.”
A spokesperson said, “Two years ago we set about building a bridge between the United Kingdom and Bermuda through our golfing relationships. It’s not a speedy process and it takes belief and work – a lot of effort behind the scenes, persons who have faith in the objective and are committed to work to make the initiative a success.
Friends of Bermuda Rosemary Lockwood, Eve Montgomerie, and Fergus Montgomerie organised the Bermuda Charity Putt Off to support Marie Curie:
“For our part, we are forming the Bermuda Golf Links Society – a collection of golfers around the world who love Bermuda.
“The Bermuda-sponsored Putting for Charity is a reality in Nottinghamshire. The genesis of this event mushroomed out of conversations that took place in March 2024 when MP Kim Swan hosted 25 influential UK golf pros and amateurs during a four-day Golf FAM Trip.
“The Bermuda Golf Link Society agreed to sponsor the putting green during the Wollaton Park Golf Club Captains Charity and donate the proceeds to charity, with each golfer paying £10 for three putts in exchange for a Goslings Dark n Stormy and the opportunity to win a prize.

“Led by the kind sponsors, Ms. Laura Purroy of St. George’s Club Hotel donating a four night Bermuda Holiday, which is being offered as a silent auction prize. To enhance the offer, appeals went out to build a holiday experience around a Town of St. George golf experience with St. George’s MP Kim Swan acting as on island host/concierge.

We are aiming to increase the awareness about Bermuda in the UK especially by building relationships within golf communities. Those relationships act like a spider’s web and grow. It about building a structure that can outlive us.”
