New Delhi: On September 17, the Delhi High Court allowed Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, to travel to Doha and the United Kingdom, according to a report by ANI. The couple had sought court permission to travel despite a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against them.
This circular generally restricts individuals from leaving the country. The Delhi Police had opposed their request to travel, but the court granted them permission to proceed with their plans.
The Delhi High Court, led by Justice Sanjeev Narula, allowed Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover to travel to Doha and the United Kingdom after noting that the Grovers had cooperated with the investigating agency whenever they were summoned.
Earlier this month, Ashneer Grover challenged the Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against him and his wife by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police. The LOC was issued in connection with an alleged Rs 81 crore fraud at BharatPe.
In their petition, the Grovers requested permission to travel abroad in September and October. The court sought a status report from the Delhi Police and scheduled a hearing for September 17.
The complaint against Ashneer and Madhuri, which dates back to 2022, involves allegations of a Rs 81 crore fraud at BharatPe. To prevent them from leaving the country without court approval, the EOW had issued the LOC.
Previously, in May, the Delhi High Court had allowed the couple to travel abroad under the condition that one of them remains in the country and that they provide an Rs 80 crore security deposit.
