We report today that Microsoft has given up its seat as an observer on the board of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, following noises from regulators about Big Tech’s plans.

The OECD said that if governments are to persuade voters to press on with the net zero transition they needed to make green jobs pay better and guarantee wages for workers who lose their jobs in high-emission industries. Australia, backed by the US, UK and Japan, accused a Chinese state-backed cyber hacking group of targeting the country’s government and private sector networks. The “malicious” attack had echoes of a group previously identified as Advanced Persistent Threat 40.
