Crystal Palace vs. Man United lineups, expected starting 11, confirmed team news and injuries: Mount, Hojlund set for Premier League return | Sporting News United Kingdom

Manchester United will look to continue their recent goalscoring form when they face Crystal Palace in a later kickoff in the Premier League on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s side have responded well to that humbling 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool prior to the international break. After easing to a 3-0 victory at Southampton in their last EPL game, they produced the biggest win of the Dutchman’s tenure as manager, thrashing League One side Barnsley 7-0 at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup.

Palace were emphatic 4-0 winners when these teams met at Selhurst Park last season, but Oliver Glasner’s team have not enjoyed the best start to 2024/25. They are winless through their first four league games of the campaign and had to battle hard to defeat Championship side QPR in the cup this week.

Crystal Palace vs. Man United lineups, predicted starting 11, team news

Glasner picked a strong side for the 2-1 cup win at QPR but may well make one or two changes.

Jeffrey Schlupp could come in on the left wing if Tyrick Mitchell is not fully recovered from that game, while Ismaila SarrAdam Wharton and Will Hughes are options to rotate in. Eddie Nketiah and Eberechi Eze will almost certainly start again.

Chadi Riad, Matheus Franca, Trevoh Chalobah and Rob Holding are all out injured.

Crystal Palace predicted 11 (3-4-2-1, right to left): Henderson (GK) — Lacroix, Guehi, Richards — Munoz, Lerma, Wharton, Schlupp — Nketiah, Eze — Mateta

Injured: Riad, Franca, Chalobah, Holding
Suspended: None

United welcomed back Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund to training this week. Mount has been sidelined since suffering a muscle injury in the 2-1 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion on August 24, while striker Hojlund has been out since damaging his hamstring in a preseason match against Arsenal. Both are expected to start on the bench.

Ten Hag is likely to rotate the team that started the cup thrashing of Barnsley. Andre Onana, Noussair Mazraoui, Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes are all expected to come back into the first 11.

Man United predicted 11 (4-2-3-1, right to left): Onana (GK) — Dalot, De Ligt, Martinez, Mazraoui — Ugarte, Mainoo — Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford — Zirkzee

Injured: Shaw, Malacia, Lindelof, Yoro
Suspended: None
