This role is a key function within the IWM Duxford Masterplan team to facilitate transformation projects that will enable IWM Duxford to reach its potential as a nationally and internationally significant museum.
Based within the Exhibitions Production Department, the Production Manager will work closely with the Head of Masterplan to provide production management for a range of different projects within the masterplan programme. You will work closely with a team of Project and Exhibition Managers to ensure the smooth integration of the masterplan projects across the wider programme of works.
You will oversee the planning of the construction and installation phases of new displays, gallery refreshes and other exhibition projects, both as part of the DX Masterplan programme and the IWM Temporary Exhibitions programme as required. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day project management of the construction and setworks install to ensure that projects opens on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard.
You will coordinate and manage exhibition contractors and internal teams providing quality assurance for build and install elements across the Masterplan and IWM Exhibition programme. You will be a critical member of the Exhibitions team in ensuring that gallery maintenance and the gallery improvement programme is delivered to the highest standard.
This role is a fixed term appointment for 2 years and can be based at either IWM London or IWM Duxford. If based at London there is the expectation the post holder will work from Duxford a minimum of 1-2 days a week. There may also be some travel to the other IWM branches as required, travel to branches where staff are not based will be expensed.

Job Requirements
1 A degree or equivalent professional or vocational qualification.
2 Recent experience of leading and managing projects which involve complex administrative planning, budget management and meeting tight deadlines, ideally in a museum or heritage environment.
3 Experience of site or contractor management requiring the overseeing and coordination of construction and staff operations.
4 Proven experience of budget allocation, management, and control.
5 Experience of using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
6 Excellent teamworking and communications skills.
