Before Betting On King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes

The G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes is one of the most prestigious open-age flat races on the British schedule, with some of the best equine stars to have competed on the turf being among the winners on the roll of honor. Many of the runners that compete in the race also run in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe later in the season.

The King George has attracted a typically high-class field this season, with nine standout horses set to take their chance. Auguste Rodin bounced back to form at Royal Ascot last month when landing the G1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes, but he did bomb out in this race 12 months ago, which would be a concern when siding when the short-priced favorite.

Rebel’s Romance has won some high-quality international prizes already this season, landing victories in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic and G1 Charter Cup. His price is interesting this weekend, but he is yet to win on British turf since June 2022.

Sunway will be looking to become the second three-year-old winner of the King George in seven editions for trainer David Menuisier. His second behind Los Angeles in the G1 Irish Derby is an interesting piece of form, but further improvement will be required to compete at this level.
