The injury bug has bitten Suns superstar Kevin Durant once again.
Durant exited Phoenix’s NBA Cup finale against San Antonio on Tuesday, Dec. 3 with an ankle injury. Durant’s latest setback came in his fourth game back in the lineup after he missed eight games with a calf injury.
The Suns are unsurprisingly a much better team with Durant. This season, Phoenix is 11-2 when Durant suits up and 1-9 when he is inactive. Here is what to know about his injury.

What is Kevin Durant’s injury?
Durant’s injury is a sprained left ankle.
Durant suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Suns’ win over the Spurs on Tuesday. During a drive in transition, Durant’s left ankle rolled when he stepped on the foot of San Antonio forward Julian Champagnie.

Durant drew a foul on the play and remained in the game for 39 more seconds before he was substituted out. He did not return for the remainder of the game, finishing with 13 points (on 5-of-8 shooting), four rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes.
Durant has posted averages of 25.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 44.9 percent from 3-point range this season.

How long is Kevin Durant out?
Durant has missed the last three games but his return is imminent. The Suns hope to have Durant return to the lineup on Friday vs. Utah or Sunday vs. Portland, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
