Which Australians will be selected in the 2024 NBA Draft?

As has become almost a yearly tradition, the 2024 NBA Draft will feature at least one Australian vying for a place in the league.

This year, Melbourne-born Kansas Jayhawk Johnny Furphy will be hoping to hear his name called, after an astronomic freshman season saw him shoot up draft boards.

Furphy has been offered an invitation to the green room of the Draft, a good indication that he will be selected in the first round.

Which NBL players will be selected in the 2024 NBA Draft?

Since its inception, the NBL’s Next Star program has proved to be a surefire way to make it to the NBA.

That trend doesn’t look like it’s stopping any time soon, with a number of 2023-24 Next Stars set to be drafted this June.

From the very top, Perth’s Alex Sarr is all but certain to be taken with one of the top two picks of the Draft, either to Atlanta or Washington.

Other NBL Next Stars likely to be drafted include Illawarra’s A.J. Johnson, and Cairns’ Bobi Klintman, both likely taken late in the first round or early in the second.

Sarr, Johnson, and Klintman are seeking to join a growing NBA fraternity of former NBL Next Stars, which includes LaMelo Ball, Josh Giddey, R.J. Hampton, Rayan Rupert and more.
