Tottenham Hotspur will round off their preparation for the new season with a showdown against Bayern Munich in a friendly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in London, on Saturday, August 10.
Last week, Bayern stopped Tottenham their first defeat of the summer as they won 2-1 in the club friendly in Seoul. The Spurs had won four matches on the trot before that. Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking to put up a better show on home turf against the German giants on Saturday.
The focus will be on Harry Kane’s ‘homecoming’. Bayern sports director Max Eberl confirmed that Kane will travel with the squad for the friendly against his former club. He had missed the match in Seoul since he was on vacation after he made the Euro 2024 final with England. If Kane plays, it will be the first time he would be taking field against Tottenham since his departure in 2023.
It will be the final preseason friendly for the Spurs, who begin their Premier League campaign against Leicester City on August 19. With Vincent Kompany at the helm, Bayern chalked up three wins in a row in preseason friendlies, including a whopping 14-1 win over Rottach-Egern.

Tottenham vs. Bayern Munich lineups, team news
Tottenham will wind down a busy preseason, which included a tour of Asia, with the friendly against Bayern. The team looked tired during the previous match against the German giants in Seoul. Destiny Udogie, who underwent surgery earlier this year, is yet to return but there are no fresh injury concerns for the Spurs.
Tottenham predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Vicario (GK) — Spence, Dragusin, Romero, Porro — Gray, Bissouma — Kulusevski, Maddison, Son — Johnson.
The big news for Bayern is the return of striker Harry Kane, who is likely to play his first match of the new season. Leroy Sane is still out with groin injury and Vincent Kompany may not want to risk him during a friendly.
Bayern predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Neuer (GK) — Boey, Kim, Dier, Guerreiro — Goretzka, Palhinha — Gnabry, Muller, Laimer — Kane.
Tottenham vs. Bayern Munich prediction
- Prediction: Bayern Munich 2-1 Tottenham
Bayern have won five of the seven matches between the two teams, while Spurs have just won one so far.
The Bavarians appeared to be the stronger team in their previous friendly in Seoul on August 3 and may continue to dominate. Kane will also be looking forward to putting on a show at his former stomping ground.
Spurs, meanwhile, have shown signs of progress under Ange Postecoglou and will be eager to kick the new season into gear in their first match at home. They won four of the five friendlies. However, the quality in Bayern’s ranks gives the German club an edge.
