Interpath Advisory has continued its international expansion, with the conclusion of a deal for KPMG’s restructuring wing in France. The deal strengthens Interpath’s headcount in the country by more than 100 staff.
Formed from a private equity carve-out in 2020, Interpath Advisory has its own origins in the Big Four firm. Now, supported by capital from H.I.G. Europe, KPMG UK’s former restructuring business has done another deal with its old owner to enhance its offering.
With the conclusion of a deal with KPMG France, Interpath‘s corporate restructuring capabilities in the country France have been boosted, enhancing the firm’s capacity to support companies in difficulty and their stakeholders. The move sees more than 100 employees join Interpath, including six managing directors and six directors.
Interpath had only launched in the French market as of the summer of 2024 – with a new office located in the heart of central Paris. The launch saw it announce plans for a recruitment drive to bring together over 150 professionals in France by the end of 2024, including a core management team of 25 managing directors and directors. But the deal means the firm already has 200 people in France in total, along with 23 managing directors and directors.
Looking ahead, Pascal Bonnet, managing director, will head up Interpath’s debt and capital advisory practice in France; meanwhile managing directors Arnaud Demeocq, Karim Helal, Guillaume Réquin and Julien Sortais will be in charge of leading the special situations practice, alongside Baréma Bocoum, CEO of Interpath in France. And Charles Durand, another managing director, will oversee the value creation practice.
“We’re delighted to be able to extend a warm welcome to the teams from KPMG’s Restructuring practice in France, who are now officially part of the Interpath family. I have no doubt that the integration of this team within Interpath will be quick and smooth as, together, we pursue a common goal of delivering excellent client service, fully aligned with our core values of humility, daring, and purpose,” stated Bocoum.
In addition to its offices in Paris and Lyon, Interpath now operates across 17 other offices in the UK, Ireland, BVI, Cayman Islands and Bermuda. The firm now employs over 900 professionals globally.
