It’s official: a massive new UNIQLO is coming to Liverpool

With its reliable basics, cool collabs and viral bags, UNIQLO has firmly cemented itself as a high-street fashion giant here in the UK

But although you might see its crossbody bag literally everywhere, there are actually only 19 UNIQLO outlets across the whole country, 16 of which are in London. It’s quickly expanding though. The Japanese brand recently opened its first Scottish store and now has its sights set on Liverpool

In August a new planning application was submitted to Liverpool City Council asking for permission to put up illuminated UNIQLO signage at the old Tessuti Store at 90 Paradise Street. It also includes plans for six internally illuminated hanging signs, and six window vinyl’s.

After all that intrigue, now we have more solid UNIQLO Liverpool news: the chain will officially be opening in Liverpool ONE. The 25,000-square-foot store will open early next year, though doesn’t yet have a confirmed opening date.

Commenting on the new store, UNIQLO UK chief operating officer Alessandro Dudech said: ‘As Uniqlo continues to expand across the UK, we are dedicated to selecting the best locations to host our brand.

‘Investing in Liverpool, a leading UK shopping destination was a natural next step, and Liverpool One was the obvious choice, given the unique opportunity to open a prominent, showstopping space on Paradise Street.

‘We are excited to continue to open into new cities and introduce our Lifewear offering to the people of Liverpool for the first time, and look forward to connecting with our new customers during Spring next year.’
