Jetts Thailand gears up to launch 50th club as it accelerates growth

Jetts Thailand says it’s about to hit the 50 club milestone as it gears up to open four more clubs

It currently has 48 sites across 12 provinces, with locations in the pipeline for Bangkok and Chiang Mai

The 50th site will also be the company’s fifth high-end Jetts Black concept

A number of clubs have opened in shopping malls in Thailand as anchor tenants

Jetts Thailand has told HCM it’s nearing the 50-club milestone, with four new clubs already launched this year and four more opening in the coming months.

The company, which is owned by Fitness and Lifestyle Group (FLG), currently has 48 clubs across 12 Thai provinces. Locations are in the pipeline for Bangkok as well as Chiang Mai, in the north.

The chain’s 50th club will launch at the One Bangkok shopping mall development in October.

This will be Thailand’s fifth Jetts Black label club – these sites have a larger footprint with a more premium offering, including facilities such as the company’s functional training zone brand, The Playground.

FLG has developed strong relationships with Thailand’s bigger mall developers and is securing high footfall locations within their developments. Its recently opened club at the central shopping mall in Nakhon Sawan reached 1,200 members within the first five months. Another recently opened site within the Nakhon Pathom province, has reached 1,350 members since opening in March.

A recently launched club at Canvas Phloen Chit, in a busy area of Bangkok known for premium malls and offices, also has a multifunctional outdoor area and can cater for 1,500 members.

Thanks to a promotional video – featuring 20 Jetts-branded tuk tuks – going viral, getting more than a million views in two weeks, 900 people signed up within three months.

Jetts Fitness Park Silom, in Bangkok’s central business district, is the fourth Jetts Black label club and offers a healthy nutrition Fuel Bar. Within six weeks of opening the club had reached 1,100 members

“We believe Jetts is the most exciting brand in the Thai fitness market,” says Mike Lamb, CEO of FLG Thailand. “We continue to meet our ROI criteria as we roll out our proven model.”

Greg Oliver, CEO of Fitness and Lifestyle Group, said: “Mike and the team have done a brilliant job rolling out the Jetts brand in Thailand, becoming the largest operator of high-quality, convenient and affordable clubs in the country.”

The Thai fitness market has seen strong growth since 2018 when Deloitte identified it had a market penetration rate of only 0.5 per cent.
