DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – United Kingdom-based electric sports car company RBW Sports & Classics is opening a manufacturing facility in Danville, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced Thursday.
According to Youngkin, RBW is investing $8 million to build a manufacturing facility that will create the company’s first left-hand drive electric sports cars for the U.S. market.
Youngkin adds the facility aims to create 144 jobs and will be located at Cane Creek Centre, an industrial park jointly owned by the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County.
“RBW’s decision to establish its operations in Southern Virginia underscores our region’s dedication to investing in assets that attract investment and generate employment opportunities,” said Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism Director Corrie Bobe. “This facility will mark RBW’s first venture in the US for manufacturing a vehicle that integrates modern mobility technology with luxurious vintage aesthetics. We are honored to welcome RBW as a key partner in our expanding automotive ecosystem.”
