Nous Group named among UK’s best places in consulting to work

The UK office of Nous Group has been recognised by Great Place to Work UK in four best workplaces lists. The latest ranking sees the firm named as a top performer in the professional services sector specifically.

For more than four decades the Great Place To Work Institute has been polling employees on the performance of their employers. Thousands of organisations are included in the institute’s assessments, with input from staff collected to reveal best practice employment practices among businesses around the world. Organisations which score a rating of 70% or higher are named a ‘Great Workplace’ – a crest they can carry for the coming twelve months.

Among the firms to have been commended this year is Nous; a consulting firm which boasts more than 700 experts, working across the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Its broad consulting capability spans strategy, organisational performance, leadership and capability, transformation and implementation, economics, public policy, data and analytics, digital and design.

Nous has been certified as a Great Place to Work in the UK and has been recognised in four best workplaces lists this year, including the UK’s best workplaces overall, best workplaces for development, and best workplaces for women. Most recently, this has grown to include a place on the list of the best employers in the consulting and professional services industry itself.

Following the launch of the Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services ranking, Nous found it scored an overall 93% rating, well above the certification benchmark of 65% – and ahead of the sector average of 69%.

Part of this success, according to Nous, is that the firm ensures it offers its people “the opportunity to do interesting and fulfilling work”. In particular, the firm is “selective about the clients… and the projects” it works on – a strategy which can help to ensure the firm “operates in accordance with our purpose and our reasons for being, which include intellectual stimulation, energy and growth”.

At the same time, Nous notes it has “organisational incentives” which are also “optimised for positive influence”. For example, Nous’ shared bonus structure – in which all team members can opt to receive the same percentage of income as a bonus each financial year – helps ensure that the firm rises together as a single team.
