Paul Pogba’s potential Manchester United return sparks debate | Sporting News United Kingdom

Paul Pogba’s name is back in the headlines, but not for reasons you might expect.

The French midfielder, currently serving a ban from football, has been linked with a sensational return to Manchester United.

Former teammate Louis Saha believes Pogba could soon be training with the Red Devils, setting the stage for a dramatic career revival.

Pogba, now 30, hasn’t played since last summer. His time at Juventus ended in disappointment, with injuries and a doping ban keeping him off the field.

Initially handed a four-year suspension, it was later reduced to 18 months, meaning he can join a club in January but won’t be eligible to play until March.

Could Pogba solve Man Utd’s midfield struggles?

Saha has thrown his support behind Pogba’s return.

Speaking about the potential move, he said: “Paul Pogba has unique qualities.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder, something Manchester United’s squad lacks right now.

“Training with top players again could help him get back to his best.”

The timing might be ideal for United, who have faced criticism for a lack of creativity and power in their midfield.

Saha believes Pogba’s free-agent status makes him an attractive option, not just for United but for many Premier League teams.

Saha has encouraged Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Manchester United to take a daring step, emphasizing that Paul Pogba remains an exceptional talent. He pointed out that Pogba possesses rare qualities that set him apart from other midfielders.

Addressing concerns about Pogba’s wages, Saha added: “Forget about the salary. I’m sure Paul is ready to find a compromise. He just wants to play football again after being sidelined for so long.”

What’s next for Pogba?

After a turbulent few years, Pogba sees this as an opportunity to hit reset on his career. In October, he expressed relief at the end of his doping case, saying, “The nightmare is over.”

Whether United will open their doors for a former star remains uncertain, but the idea of Pogba training at Carrington in 2025 is enough to stir excitement among fans.
