The great thing about Spreadex is that offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences, of course, between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets.

Make the right call and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

The action hots up on Saturday (August 31st) and Andrew heads to Beverley and Lingfield for his three recommended bets/trades…

BEVERLEY 2.05

The three interesting runners in the 5f Beverley Bullet are in the three highest stalls and a buy of DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER with Spreadex is the suggestion. First up is ALBASHEER (stall 5 of 7), who won at Ascot on his latest start at the minimum trip before two respectable efforts in defeat over 6f at Goodwood (Stewards’ Cup) and York. Stall 19 of 19 made life impossible on the Knavesmire on his latest assignment and his tenth place was worthy of a serious upgrade. CLARENDON HOUSE (stall 6) was also drawn out of it at York, finishing last of 12 in the Nunthorpe in first-time cheekpieces. Robert Cowell’s six-year-old blew the start that day, but the headgear may have been to blame, and he goes without it here. He has a fine overall record in small fields, landing eight of his 15 starts in single-digit line-ups for a profit of £13.59 to a £1 level stake at SP. EMARAATY ANA (stall 7) found the slow ground against him when fifth in a 6f Listed race at Chester last time and has his preferred quick ground for the first time since a respectable 33-1 eighth of 17 to Asfoora in Group 1 company at Royal Ascot.

Recommendation: buy DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in Beverley 2.05

LINGFIELD 5.25

This 5f fillies’ handicap is packed with front-runners and it’s hard to escape the conclusion that the race will be teed up perfectly for James Fanshawe’s ALPINE GIRL. The daughter of Acclamation blew the start after getting upset in the stalls at Chepstow when we last saw her, finishing sixth of eight, but she has won her other two starts since fitted with a hood, albeit over 6f on turf. She has form on Polytrack, scoring over course and distance last summer, and looks sure to be finishing to good effect. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back ALPINE GIRL in Lingfield 5.25

BEVERLEY 5.30

Apprentice jockeys, like amateurs, can usually be relied upon to misjudge the pace and go off too quickly. This 1m2f handicap is a case in point, with the three previous winners described by the Racing Post as “slowly away, in rear”, “slowly into stride, towards rear” and “towards rear of midfield”.  With two runners in first-time headgear this race could again be teed up for a closer and the likeliest beneficiary is the hat-trick seeking BAY DREAM BELIEVER. Mark Walford’s five-year-old needs a small field (nine or fewer runners) and a recent outing (14 days or less) and her record when these two conditions coincide is 415411 (3-6) for a profit of £17.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back BAY DREAM BELIEVER in Beverley 5.30
