The great thing about Spreadex is that offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences, of course, between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets.

Make the right call and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew found 13-2 Newmarket winner COTO DE CAZA and has three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, October 12th…

YORK 2.40

At first glance, the 22-runner Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap looks impossible to fathom but there has been a strong bias in this 6f handicap in the last ten years, favouring low draws. That’s also been the case in sprints at York for most of this season and it was certainly confirmed in Friday’s 5f handicap (3.45) when the first four finishers were drawn 2, 1, 5 and 3 of 17. Since 2014, backing all runners drawn in stall 10 or higher in this race would have hit the winner just once from 110 bets for a huge loss of £95.00 to a £1 level stake at SP (the expected number of winners, based on their prices was 4.88). Had we simply backed all the runners in single-figure stalls we’d have found the winner nine times from 90 bets for a profit of £29.00. We can narrow the field further still by only considering low-drawn horses aged four, five or six – this method would have found nine winners from 61 bets for a profit of £58.00. This produces a shortlist of just four runners – STRIKE RED, ORAZIO, THE GREEN MAN and SECRET GUEST. Backing all four of them each-way is probably the angle for fixed odds punters, but Spreadex bettors can sell DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER.

Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in York 2.40

CHEPSTOW 2.45

SPRINGWELL BAY has won five of his 11 starts but I’m happy to oppose him on his chase and seasonal debut. Jonjo O’Neill’s seven-year-old has form figures on his reappearance for his current yard of 111 (3-3), which will draw plenty of punters in, but he’s shown a clear preference for right-handed tracks. His record right-handed stands at 21112 (3-5), with the first defeat by three-quarters of a length when 10-1 for a 22-runner Punchestown bumper on his only start for Magaret Mullins and the other by a neck in a 14-runner handicap hurdle at Musselburgh. On left-handed tracks his record reads 31614U (2-6), with the latest win when 1-4 favourite (he simply outclassed his opponents). He did land a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham on his reappearance last term but jumped out to his right on occasion and that trait could be exaggerated now that he’s asked to jump a fence for the first time. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose SPRINGWELL BAY in Chepstow 2.45

NEWMARKET 4.50

Three-year-olds have landed nine of the last ten renewals of the Boadicea Stakes – a 6f Listed contest for fillies and mares – and this looks like a good opportunity for the prolific ALFA KELLENIC to make the transition from handicapper. Craig Lidster’s daughter of Havana Grey needed the experience on her first two racecourse starts – both on the all-weather – and has since recorded form figures of 111111 (6-6), defying a difficult high draw when landed the Ayr Silver Cup last month. Runner-up Aramram franked that form when scoring at Wolverhampton next time and the form looks solid. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back ALFA KELLENIC in Newmarket 4.50
