Pakistan keeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed rubbished the reports of leaving Pakistan and getting settled in the United Kingdom. He thrashed the fake news and stated that the media should confirm before running fabricated news.
On Saturday (20th January), media reports in Pakistan jolted the entire cricket fraternity. As per the reports, it was learned that former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed migrated to the United Kingdom with his full family and won’t be staying in Pakistan.
According to reports, Sarfaraz Ahmed took the decision because he was hopeless about his for the Pakistan team and was indicated that he wouldn’t be playing any further games. Therefore he decided to move out of his homeland but would continue to play in the Pakistan Super League.
Sarfaraz Khan recently played for Pakistan in the Test series against Australia. He played the first match and then was dropped for the last two games. The keeper-batter scored just 7 runs in that game and was replaced by Mohammad Rizwan, who did a decent job, scoring 193 runs from four innings at an average of 48.25.
The reports of Sarfaraz Ahmed leaving Pakistan triggered a lot of reactions. It was both the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as well as the keeper-batter received a lot of flake for development. It raised quite a lot of eyebrows and made me wonder about the decision.
However, with all the speculations around, Sarfaraz Ahmed has quashed all the reports and has slammed all the reports related to the same, saying that it is sad to see fake news circulating. Speaking to the Samma Digital, he explained:
“I can’t even think of leaving Pakistan. Confirm before running such fabricated news. Sad to see such news.”

Quetta Gladiators manager Azam Khan also rubbished off all the reports surrounding Sarfaraz Ahmed moving to the United Kingdom. The official of the governing body said that the keeper-batter moved to England to see his son, who is studying in England, with his family.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, however, has been a great servant of Pakistan. He led the team to the win in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Apart from that he too has played some crucial knocks for the team. As a leader, he was exceptional as well and he guided the team to some famous wins and is also the U19 World Cup-winning skipper.
Sarfraz Ahmed also expressed his desire to play for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The keeper-batter is all set to play for the team in the upcoming tournament. The keeper-batter would be eager to make the mark and claim his authority back.
Sarfaraz has so far played Pakistan in 54 Tests, 117 ODIs, and 61 T20Is. The keeper-batter has scored 3031 runs in the longest format of the game at an average of 37.41. Apart from this, he has 2315 runs in ODIs at an average of 33.55. In T20Is, he has 818 runs at an average of 27.26.
