UK-based financial expert commends Gov Abdulrasak on infrastructure devt

A UK-based leading financial expert and Entrepreneur, Dr. Kazeem Salaam, has lauded the giant strides of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasak, on infrastructural Development across the State, saying his commitment to speedy development is unprecedented.

Salaam, who is presently the Secretary General of the Kwara State Association in the UK (KWASANG), and an Advisory Board member of the Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (CANUK) urged contractors and newly appointed community development officers to be dutiful and diligent in the handling of various projects in the three senatorial districts of Kwara State, in line with the vision and focus of the Governor.

“I want to passionately and conscientiously implore the newly appointed Community Development Officers across the 16 local governments of the state to discharge their duties honourably, Ideally, the following duties are expected of them- monitoring and promoting economic development projects, establishing partnerships with local businesses and community organisations to promote community development programs among other functions”.

He, however, eulogised the Governor’s impactful projects in the state capital and in Kwara South, which according to him has brought significant milestones in the state’s progress.

He said “With a visionary approach, the Kwara State Government under the inclusive leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasak has prioritized strategic investments in infrastructural projects across the state. These initiatives underscore a dedication to enhancing connectivity, driving economic growth, and enriching the lives of citizens.

“In a strategic move to boost economic growth and enhance societal well-being, the government has demonstrated prudence and foresight by allocating resources to critical infrastructure projects across the State, and Kwara South in particular.

“This investment underscores the administration’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for citizens across Kwara.
Without mincing words, infrastructure serves as the backbone of any thriving economy by facilitating commerce, connectivity, and community development.

“One of the major differences between advanced countries such as United Kingdom, the United States of America and others, and developing countries like Nigeria is the wide infrastructural gap between the capital cities and other towns and villages Therefore, I commend His Excellency’s proactive approach in prioritizing infrastructure spending in these formerly neglected towns and villages and recognizing its pivotal role in driving innovation, fostering job creation, and fortifying the State in all ramifications “.

The expert, who is popularly known as Alabaja Omu-Aran, by his admirers added that the infusion of funds into infrastructural initiatives signifies a tangible commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges while laying the groundwork for future growth and prosperity.

“He continued: “Recent approvals by the Kwara State Executive Council, given for the construction and rehabilitation of Owu Falls Road phase (I); Omu Aran/Oko Road, Arandun Township Road, Roundabout-Esie-Oro Township Road; Ajase Ipo-Oke Iya Road in Irepodun local government, and the completion of the Idera-Alabe section of the Ilere District Road., would not only stimulating economic activity but also positioning the State for sustained competitiveness among the federating units.

“As an advocate of sustainable economic growth and development in our dear state, myself and the rest of the team in Nigeria are ready to collaborate with government, stakeholders, industry partners and community leaders to ensure the successful implementation of infrastructure projects that benefit all and sundry in Kwara State.”
