LIV Golf is returning to its inaugural site, where it had its debut event at the Centurion Club outside London, in 2022. This will mark the third year in a row when the league has hosted their event in the United Kingdom, but there is a subtle change. So, where will LIV Golf UK play out from July 26th to 28th?
The official X handle of LIV Golf announced this change. Along with a first look at their venue choice for LIV Golf UK this year, they wrote, “LIV Golf returns to England for the third consecutive year but at a different venue, the JCB Golf & Country Club 🇬🇧”

The history of the JCB Golf Club
Although the chairman of JCB has never been a golfer himself, it was his idea that led to the creation of JCB Golf & Country Club. His initial plan was to build the course around the Woodseat Hall, which was mostly taken as ruins. This plan was mostly a business venture to attract more customers upon their visit to JCB. “Also, as with rival John Deere’s PGA Tour event at the TPC Deere Run near its own headquarters in Moline, Illinois, it would be a perfect venue for a professional tournament that would spread the JCB name further,“ said Adam Lawrence.
Lawrence further suggested that Hiseman built the golf course with two primary goals in mind. These goals were, first, to entertain all those visitors who came to the JCB headquarters. Secondly, it will provide a world-class venue to meet the needs of talented professional golfers in tournaments.
Has JCB Golf Club hosted other tournaments before?
The JCB Golf & Country Club, located in Staffordshire, has previously hosted events for the last two years. However, it was first opened to play in 2018, but its construction started only after 2014. It has been the venue for events on the Legends Tour as well as the DP World Tour’s veteran circuit. The golf club has hosted two of its JCB Championships as part of the European Senior Tour since 2022.

The JCB Golf Club course specifications
The famous architect Robin Hiseman of European Golf Design designed this golf course. Spread across 7308 yards, the course is 72-par. It was made near the Woodseat Hall and had some of its holes occupying the old park. The soil on the course, however, is extremely hard. Hence, the designer, Hiseman, took some necessary steps to make it more suitable for the golfers.
According to Golf Course Architecture, “Hiseman and his construction team have installed a huge drainage network, including deep-lying herringbone drains and, above them, sand bands of the sort that would normally be retrofitted after the course was completed.”

The golf course’s route also incorporated several types of landscapes. This includes open farmland, stately parkland, woodlands, and spectacular Lakelands. Among the notable holes are 1 and 3, which utilize the Uttoxeter Canal, and holes 5, 11, and 12 have Alders Brook. But its signature hole is the 17th. It is situated on top of the JCB lakes. It is also the longest par 3 hole of the course.
